Gregory C. Hobbs, CCIMGreg Hobbs founded Olympic Properties in 1995 bringing with him over 18 years experience in organizing, planning, developing, managing and marketing commercial and multifamily projects. Successful negotiation of over $250 million in transactions on behalf of such institutional investors as The Prudential Insurance Company of the United Kingdom, Mutual Insurance Company of New York, The Scottish Amicable Assurance Company of the United Kingdom, Chemical Bank, Citibank and First Chicago exemplifies Hobbs's level of experience and track record. Hobbs's record includes eighteen assignments representing over 3.75 million square feet of space, including; office, retail, and multifamily properties. Additionally, he has helped several major corporate users with relocations, including: Amerada Hess's regional headquarters (150,000 square feet), First Interstate Bank of Texas (225,000 square feet), The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Houston (200,000 square feet), Arco, Ford Motor Company, Industrial Bank of Japan and Price Waterhouse. Before he formed Olympic Property Counselors, Hobbs was a principal in the Houston based firm, Edmundson & Hobbs (1989-1994). This company specialized in renovating, repositioning and leasing high-rise downtown properties, and the firm had exclusive instructions for over two million square feet. This firm was formed out of the former Jones Lang Wootton, Houston operation. During Hobbs's five years (1984-1989) with London based Jones Lang Wootton he was responsible for both landlord and tenant representation and served as Vice President Corporate Real Estate Services. Hobbs was a Property Manager with PM Realty in 1983-1984 and managed over 250,000 square feet of suburban office properties. He gained his sales training as a Senior Sales Representative for The Burroughs Corporation and was over 170% of quota when he left to pursue real estate in 1982. Hobbs began his professional career with his father, Douglas M. Hobbs in 1978 in the renovation of a mixed-use office-theater project in downtown Raleigh. Greg remembers some of the quality time he spent with his dad looking at investment property opportunities while helping out in the summers by pushing broom, painting and changing out light bulbs in his father's office buildings. Hobbs is a graduate of East Carolina University with a BSBA, a designated CCIM, and a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina. He is a licensed commercial general contractor in North Carolina. Hobbs has served on various boards, including the Houston Chapter of National Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives, District Finance Chair for the Boy Scouts of America and Epiphany House and currently serves as a board member of the Downtown Raleigh Rotary International Club, Wake Friends of the Homeless and the Occaneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a full member of the Urban Land Institute-Small Scale Development Council, Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors, Triangle Office Building Association and the Commercial-Investment Real Estate Council.
